Emergency Septic Services — Signs To Be Aware Of

Raw sewage and liquid waste that is not safely contained in a septic tank can be hazardous to you and your family members. The signs below will alert you to a potential problem that will require emergency septic services

Backups

If sinks, tubs, and toilets within your home become backed up, something that shouldn't have gone down the drain could be contributing to the problem. This isn't the only possibility, however. A licensed plumber who performs emergency septic services will need to conduct a complete analysis of the septic system.

The analysis will require that the indoor plumbing, outdoor plumbing, and drain field are inspected in entirety. If the backed-up liquid is dark-colored, this is a good indication that raw sewage and liquid waste are not adequately being routed to your septic system.

An emergency plumber should be contacted as soon as you take notice of the drain system not working properly.

Property Damage

Property damage could contribute to the septic lines or tank becoming damaged too. For instance, if a heavy tree toppled onto your property, the weight of the tree could have cracked one of the septic line materials or the septic tank itself.

If damage to your property occurs where the drain field is located, it is best to contact a plumber who provides emergency services. A plumber will use underground camera equipment and other specialized equipment to determine if the septic system is damaged.

If damage occurs, the plumber will need to excavate the property where the septic system is installed. They may need to replace some of the plumbing materials.

Pooling Liquid

Pooling liquid could indicate that the septic system and septic lines need to be pumped out. It could also indicate that the drain field has failed. An emergency service appointment will require that a plumber inspects your property. During this inspection, they can determine where the pooling liquid is coming from.

The level of repair work that will need to be performed will depend upon how much liquid is present and where it is coming from. A plumber will also take note of whether or not the septic tank is full or if one of the drain lines is clogged.

If sewage needs to be emptied from part of the septic system, the plumber will use equipment that is connected to their truck to remove the contents from within the septic tank and septic lines.
